He said Homecoming is "the kind of movie you leave and you're just in the best mood—and still will be days later." It was noted that the character is generally depicted as a white bully in the comics; the Guatemalan American actor received death threats upon his casting. Revolori worked hard "to do him justice", as he is an important character to the fans. Rather than being a physically imposing jock, Flash Thompson was re-imagined as "a rich, smug kid" to reflect modern views of bullying, by crafting him more into a social media bully and rival for Parker opposed to a jock; this depiction was largely informed by Holland's visit to The Bronx High School of Science.
Filming
JK Simmons will hopefully return as J Jonah Jameson after that brilliant mid-credits scene in Far From Home. Neither of those films are MCU movies, and from what Molina has said about his comeback, it seems they'll be coming back as we last saw them. He pretty much went straight from filming on Uncharted to the third Spidey movie and given that his Uncharted hair was "much cooler", Holland admitted that he refused to wear a wig to make his hair look more like Peter Parker's usually is.
Marvel Studios did hold an epic Comic-Con panel where Kevin Feige confirmed Phase Five release dates and a few major Phase Six releases. However, a new Spider-Man movie was never going to be announced there as it's a Sony release. In Ixtenco, Mexico, Nick Fury and Maria Hill investigate an unnatural storm and encounter the Earth Elemental.
What If Story
Jonah Jameson of TheDailyBugle.net broadcasts doctored footage of the London incident in which Beck frames Spider-Man for the drone attack and his death before exposing Spider-Man's secret identity to the world, much to Parker's shock. In a post-credits scene, Fury and Hill are revealed to be the Skrulls Talos and Soren in disguise, under orders from the real Fury while he is away commanding a Skrull spaceship. Million, accounting for production budgets, marketing, talent participations, and other costs; box office grosses and home media revenues placed it seventh on their list of 2017's "Most Valuable Blockbusters". While promoting Doctor Strange in early November 2016, Feige accidentally revealed that Michael Giacchino, who composed the music for that film, would compose the score for Homecoming as well. Harrier noted that the young actors in the film "constantly refer to ourselves as The Breakfast Club". In August, Michael Chernus was cast as Phineas Mason / Tinkerer, while Jona Xiao joined the cast in an unspecified role, and Buress said he was playing a gym teacher.
The MCU version of the character is brand new, not the Raimi version "from another dimension or multiverse". Simmons' footage was filmed in a Disney conference room in front of a green screen. Watts noted that Simmons' performance was over-the-top in Raimi's films, but now that same performance has real-world comparisons, such as Alex Jones. According to Feige, the changes in the real world also meant that moving the character from a newspaper editor to a "radical right news journalist that kind of scream in front of the camera" made more sense.
Additional trilogy
By early August, Samuel L. Jackson and Cobie Smulders were confirmed to be appearing in the film, reprising their respective roles of Nick Fury and Maria Hill from previous MCU films, and Remy Hii joined the cast later in the month. Watts describes Fury's relationship with Parker as "the mean new stepdad", contrasting his role with Tony Stark as a "supportive cool uncle" in Homecoming, saying, "Fury sees Peter Parker as an asset that he needs who is too preoccupied with a bunch of high school problems." Lussier suggested the latter approach be taken, while a representative of Sony said the studio would be working with Marvel to "figure out the Spider-Man strategy". Holland and Gyllenhaal debuted the first trailer for Far From Home at Sony's CCXP Brazil panel on December 8, 2018. The footage does not acknowledge the events of Infinity War or Endgame, with Steven Weintraub of Collider describing it as a continuation of "the Spider-Man universe" only.

Watts explained that the Vulture shot was created for Comic-Con and "was never meant to be in the movie", but he was able to repurpose the angle for Vulture's reveal in the film. The Spider-Man and Iron Man shot was created because the marketing team wanted a shot of the two together, and existing shots "just didn't look that great" then. The trailer shot used a background plate taken when filming the subway in Queens. The two trailers were viewed over 266 million times globally within a week. In November 2016, Feige confirmed that Keaton would play Adrian Toomes / Vulture, while Woodbine was revealed as Herman Schultz / Shocker.
Stark also returns the Spider-Man suit to Parker, who puts it on just as his aunt May walks in. Filming eventually got underway with Holland joining the set in Atlanta in late October 2020 after wrapping filming on the Uncharted video game movie. Production wrapped in late March 2021 and though originally set for the 17, Sony confirmed to Digital Spy that No Way Home would debut two days earlier. One potential option is to deliver a long-awaited battle between Spider-Man and Venom on the big screen.
